Slight Fireplace Update

Well, while cleaning up the mess I decided to go ahead and remove the rest of the 2x4 framing since it was so poorly attached to the wall and needed moved anyway.

Once I got it off the wall I found that there is indeed an old power line, live no less, which is at the top of the fireplace.

I'll be using a shallow electrical box to enclose it and will frame a power outlet into the new mantel. Nice to find it, makes my life easier since I don't have to run power to the location.

I Broke the Fireplace!

Well, I didn't really break it. What I did do is finish deconstructing it, which is a much better term for smashing the crud out of it.

Since it was so cold today I decided to hold off on working on the dog door and opted to finish the fireplace breakdown.

Fireplace DeConstruction

Well, I'd wanted to finish up the dog door today but instead we took the day easy for the most part. We did however start on the fireplace and I must say, even removing parts of it is a vast improvement.

I'd commented before to people that I've got several years worth of things that need to be done to this house. I didn't really realize how right I was until I started making a TODO list of things per room that I need to get done.

This is my TODO list for the house. Anyone want to help?

Yard Tour

Since we've moved there seems to be so much more to the yard. Granted the new place has like 1.2 ares where our old place had, oh, .2 maybe? At any rate we're enjoying this yard a lot more than our previous one.

There's still a pile of work to do, but we'd like to invite you to tour our yard.

Behold the Weekend Warrior!

For those of you who know us personally you know that we finally sold the house and bought a new one. For those of you who do not? Well, now you know.

It’s been a busy time with all the moving, handling details and etc. In fact it’s had me tied up for a while. We’re finally set however and have cleaned out the other house.

So now begins the ultimate weekend warrior quest. One in which will take us years to complete. But onward we trudge nonetheless.

I'm way too rusty for my own good.

Well I've been so stressed out lately that I decided I needed something to calm me down. I remembered back to when I was into RC, helis and cars; and recalled how it was so fun and was great stress relief.

Yup, it was great. So I went in search of a heli that was cheap on parts and, for that matter, cheap to buy. I came across three choices;

1.) The Blade CP (of which I'd have done the pro to start)
2.) The Night Ranger 3D
3.) The Honeybee CP2

Old RCA 811K - Start of the Restoration

Ok, so recently I've been on a cleaning spree in the garage. This has been centered around the fact that I'm building one of several workbenches that I'll end up having around. Anyway, the workbench is almost done and the garage is clean enough for me to actually do some things. So what do I do? Hey, what's that over there? Why, it's that old console tube radio that my wife started stripping. I think I'll play with it!
